Before you start
The non-negotiables
- Environment Agency rod licence required for anyone 13 or over. We do check.
- Unhooking mat and landing net must be used. Borrow ours if you've forgotten.
- Barbless or micro-barb hooks only. No exceptions on any lake.
- No keepnets except in organised matches.
- No nuts, beans or pulses other than sweetcorn.
- Take your litter home. Line especially, it kills birds.
General
- Maximum two rods on a day ticket, three with the extra rod fee paid.
- Minimum 12lb mainline on Willow and Oak Mere. 4lb maximum on Alder.
- No braid straight through to the hook.
- Fixed leads and clip-in systems only. Nothing that can leave a fish tethered.
- Fish must be returned to the lake they came from.
- Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- No swimming, no boats, no wading.
- Dogs on leads, and please pick up after them.
- Music, generators and raised voices: keep it to yourself.
Oak Mere, syndicate only
- Members only. Your permit must be on you and visible.
- Night fishing permitted all year for members. Sign in at the gate.
- Maximum 72 hours in one swim, then move.
- No fishing to the snags on the east bank.
- All captures over 20lb to be reported so we can keep the records straight.
If something goes wrong
If you hook a fish badly, snap off in weed, or find a fish in trouble, come and get one of us. Nobody's in bother for an accident, we'd much rather know about it straight away.
There's someone on site every day from 6am, and the number's on the gate.
