Websites for fisheries & fishing lakes

Your lake, online at last. The website your water deserves. Landing more anglers, for lakes that deserve them. More bookings. Fewer phone calls.

I build proper websites for fishery owners. The kind that show off your lakes, keep your prices and match diary up to date, and put you in front of anglers searching for a water near them.

Most fisheries are losing anglers before they ever arrive

Not because the fishing isn't good, but because nobody can find the information they need.

Is it £10 or £12 a day now?

Your prices changed last season but they're still wrong on a five-year-old Facebook post. So the phone rings. Again.

Have you got any pegs free Sunday?

Twenty texts, six voicemails and a WhatsApp group. All asking the same thing you could answer once, online, for everyone.

I didn't even know that lake existed.

Someone searched "fishing lakes near me" this morning. Three fisheries came up. Yours wasn't one of them.

Why it matters

Angling isn't shrinking. It's moving online.

The anglers booking your pegs are younger than they were a few years ago, and they found their last session on a phone. The numbers are not subtle.

Of all angling days in England are spent on still waters: lakes, reservoirs and ponds. Not rivers. Yours.

The Rivers Trust

Spent on day tickets in England every year, across 17 million angling days by close to a million anglers.

The Rivers Trust

And nearly all of them start on a phone

Your Facebook page is where your regulars already are. Google is where everybody else is.

When someone decides where to fish this weekend, they type "fishing lakes near me" into a phone, and whatever comes back is the shortlist. If your fishery isn't on it, you were never in the running, however good the water is.

A website is what puts you on that list. And once they've clicked, the first few seconds decide whether they drive to you or to the fishery down the road.

  • 53% abandon a site on mobile if it takes more than three seconds to load Google

Core service

A website built around your water

No templates dragged off a shelf. I sit down with you, learn how your fishery actually runs, and build something that fits it. Completely bespoke, completely yours.

Every site is tailored, but most fisheries want these pages as a starting point.

See it for real

Here's one I made earlier

Willow Bank Fishery doesn't exist, but the website does. Every page listed above, built out properly, so you can click through it before you commit to anything.

A working example, not a screenshot

Three lakes with full peg-by-peg plans, live pricing, a match diary showing what's booked and what's free, results and catch reports, and a proper directions page. It's a completely different look to this site on purpose. Yours would be different again.

Have a click around. Every page is real.

Everything included

All of this, in the standard package

No upsells hidden behind a "pro" tier. This is simply what a fishery website should have.

Strong SEO presence

Built to rank for "fishing lakes near me" and every village, town and county around you. Proper page titles, structured data, fast load times and a Google Business Profile set up alongside it.

Mobile first, always

Most anglers check your prices from the car park or the bank, one-handed, on 4G. Your site is designed for that phone first and the desktop second.

High-quality images & graphics

Hand-drawn lake plans, peg maps and swim diagrams, plus your best catch photos presented properly instead of squashed into a Facebook grid.

Your own custom domain

yourfishery.co.uk, registered, configured and renewed for you. Your name, your address, no shared platform URL with a hyphen in it.

Linked to your socials

Your Facebook page and Instagram feed pulled straight onto the site, so a post about today's catch shows up on your homepage without you doing a thing.

Secure, backed up, looked after

SSL certificate, daily backups, software kept current and uptime monitored. If something breaks at 6am on a Saturday, it's my problem, not yours.

And the details that quietly make the difference

  • Enquiry forms that land straight in your inbox
  • Click-to-call and click-for-directions buttons on every phone
  • Rules & regulations page you can point disputes at
  • Catch report gallery anglers can send photos into
  • Opening hours and seasonal closures front and centre
  • Weather and conditions for your postcode
  • Facilities list: parking, toilets, tackle shop, café, disabled pegs
  • Newsletter sign-up so you own your angler list, not Facebook
  • Google Analytics so you can see who's visiting and from where
  • Accessibility considered: readable type, proper contrast
  • Fast hosting on UK infrastructure
  • Unlimited content edits: just send me the changes
Simple pricing

One setup fee. One small monthly.

Most fisheries land on the £250 setup. No per-page charges, no surprise invoices, no tiers to decode.

How it works

Four steps, and you're live

Most fisheries go from first phone call to launched website in two to three weeks.

1

A proper chat

On the phone or at the lake. I learn how you run the place, what frustrates you, and who you want fishing there.

2

Design & build

I draw up your lake plans, write the pages, and build the site around your photos and your prices.

3

You review it

You see it before anyone else does. We change whatever needs changing until it's right.

4

Live & looked after

Domain goes live, Google gets told, and I keep it running. Need a price changed? Send me a message.

Questions

The things owners usually ask

Do I need to be good with computers?
No. If you'd rather not touch it, don't. Send me a text or an email with the change and I'll do it, as often as you like, at no extra cost. If you do want to update prices and match results yourself, I'll set up a simple editor and show you how in about ten minutes.
What exactly does the £14.99 a month cover?
Hosting, your domain renewal, the SSL certificate, daily backups, security updates, uptime monitoring, and unlimited content changes. It is not a payment plan for the setup fee. It's the ongoing cost of keeping the site live, fast and looked after.
Am I tied into a contract?
No long tie-in. The monthly runs month to month and you can stop whenever you like. The domain is registered in your name, so if you ever leave, it goes with you.
I've already got a Facebook page. Isn't that enough?
Facebook is brilliant for regulars who already follow you. It's poor at two things that matter: showing up in Google when someone searches for a lake near them, and holding information that needs to stay accurate, like prices, rules, directions and match dates. A website does those. Then it feeds your Facebook posts back in, so you get both.
How long does it take?
Typically two to three weeks from our first conversation, assuming you can get me photos and your current prices reasonably quickly. If you're up against a season opening or a match calendar going out, tell me and I'll work to that.
Do you only work with fisheries?
Yes, that's the point. I'm not a general web designer who'll learn about fishing on your money. I know what a stock list is, why night tickets are priced differently, and why "peg 14 is on the point" matters to someone deciding where to fish.
What if I don't have any decent photos?
Very common, and easily fixed. I offer photography and drone work as an add-on. A morning at your lake usually produces enough imagery for the website, your Facebook page and any advertising for the next couple of years.

Let's get your lake online.

Tell me about your fishery and I'll come back with an honest answer on what would help most, even if that isn't hiring me.
